The report "RECYCLED MATERIALS: How to Increase the Availability of Recycled Plastics in Poland? The Role and Responsibilities of Stakeholders" prepared by the Members of the Polish Plastics Pact, including KGL S.A., is now available.

On June 19, 2024, the long-awaited report "RECYCLED MATERIALS: How to Increase the Availability of Recycled Plastics in Poland? The Role and Responsibilities of Stakeholders" was released. We are pleased that KGL S.A. could participate in creating the publication, and our expert – Anita Frydrych, Director of the Plastics Technology Development and EU Funds Department, who is also a member of the Working Group on Recycled Materials in Packaging – provided commentary in the section "From the Sector's Perspective: Plastic Packaging Producers" (p. 19).

About the Report

The report is available for free download on the website of the Polish Plastics Pact. Regarding the content, the authors discuss the following significant issues:

  1. Challenges in increasing the share of recycled materials in plastic packaging in Poland;
  2. The role and responsibilities of participants in the packaging value chain in increasing the supply of high-quality recycled materials;
  3. Opportunities to increase the share of recycled materials in packaging;
  4. Certification of recycled materials.

The document marks the first step towards achieving one of the six strategic goals of the Polish Plastics Pact, which is to increase the share of recycled materials in packaging up to 25% by the end of 2025. In the next stage, directional strategies will be developed, requiring cooperation of all PPP members for implementation.
